Carnevale is the name for the period of time before Lent in Christian doctrine when it is encouraged to celebrate earthly pleasure before fasting.
This piece is a bittersweet goodbye to the body before it undergoes a rather drastic change - a contemplation on the spirituality of surgery. The old flesh is gone. Long live the new flesh.
