About

My name is Kit Baker. I am a multidisciplinary artist who works in digital photography, scultpure, and performance.

Inspired by body horror, erotica and boudoir photography, I wish to grasp at the elusive and the esoteric in my art. As a transgender woman, my work explores themes of dysphoria, euphoria, body horror, and depictions of the body in a state of becoming created from a place of longing.

I often have my work displayed in gallery exhibitions in across Naarm (also known as Melbourne), Australia.

I am incredibly thankful and privileged to be able create and display my work on the unceded Indigenous lands of the Boonwurrung and Woiworrung Peoples of the Kulin Nation. They have been telling stories, creating art, and fostering community on this land for over 40,000 years. Soveriegnty of these lands has never been ceded.

Always was, always will be, Aboriginal Land.
